hurt in wreck Four members of a well-known Sabine Parish logging company remain hospitalized in Shreveport after being seriously injured in an accident involving a disabled crew truck on Louisiana Highway 191 near Toledo Town on April 21. Albert Ezernack, Jr., owner-operator of Ezernack Logging, Inc., of Zwolle, and three crew members, Lawrence (Till) McGraw, Donnie Williams, and Sammy Duane Procell, are at LSU Medical Center Hospital in Shreveport. As late as April 26, Ezernack and Procell remained in the hospital's intensive care unit awaiting surgery for broken bones and internal injuries. McGraw and Williams had been treated and were reported recuperating in their hospital rooms. According to reports available, the group were riding in a crew truck which had mechanical problems and was being towed by a log truck. They were traveling north on Highway 191 in the area of Cypress Bend, when the tow line became fouled and caused the crew truck to flip, turning over four times. The injured men were transported from the scene by ambulance and medical helicopter to the Shreveport hospital. Mr. Ezernack and his wife, Wanda, are long-time supporters and workers in the Zwolle Loggers and Forestry Festival, the Zwolle Tamale Festival, and other civic affairs in the Sabine Parish community. |
