Vacant Lt. Governor office on ballot Oct. 2 to replace Mitch Landrieu, now NO Mayor

The political pot, never cool in Louisiana, is reaching a rolling boil in a hot summer, with state and local offices on the ballots of towns and villages across the Piney Woods region.

On ballots scheduled statewide on October 2 is a race to fill the vacant Lieutenant Governor’s office.

The top two candidates, regardless of party, will meet in the General Election on November 2 to decide the winner.

Nine candidates are filed in the race to fill the vacancy created when Mitch Landrieu resigned after being elected Mayor of New Orleans. With affiliation, etc., shown as Democrat (D), Republican (R), White (W), Black (W), Male (M), Female (F), they are:
