Dodson Mayor thanks volunteers during tornado crisis Letter of Thanks from the Village of Dodson I would like to take this means to personally thank each and every one who came ton our rescue on the morning of May 3, when the tornado ripped through our Village. First and foremost, I would like to thank Our Lord Jesus Christ that there were no major injuries or deaths. My special thanks go out to every volunteer who worked tirelessly to restore some sense of normalcy to our Village. Thanks to those who donated their labor, time, equipment, or just a word of encouragement. A special thanks to all the churches, the Winn Parish Police Jury, all inmates, contractors, the Fire Department, Office of Emergency Preparedness, 101.9 Radio Station from Monroe, the Red Cross, Entergy, the Winn Parish Sheriff's Department, the State Police, Rep. Jim Fannin, and all surrounding Parishes that helped. A special thanks to the Town Council members, who cooked tirelessly and used their homes to store perishable food. A special thanks to the employees of the Village of Dodson who went above and beyond their call of duty to get things operating again. Thank to the committee of local business men who used their time on how monetary contributions should be distributed. To the Police Department, thank you for every kind deed. To anyone I may have failed to mention, Thank You. I could never have been prouder of our community for pulling together despite some negative publicity. I assure you, this was a new experience for all of us and I am sure we made some mistakes, but with the outpouring of generosity from each of you makes me proud to by the Mayor of Dodson.
