announced Timmons Truck Centers, Inc., with headquarters in Alexandria and truck sales and service centers in Alexandria, Baton Rouge, and Winnfield, Louisiana,, has announced the affiliation of its Winnfield division with Car Quest Auto Parts. Car Quest is a a nationwide supplier of automobile parts, accessories, supplies, and equipment for domestic and foreign cars, light and heavy duty trucks, off-road equipment, buses, recreational vehicles, and agricultural equipment, plus tools, equipment, chemicals, paint and accessories, says James Haymon, manager of the Winnfield store. James Timmons of Alexandria, founder and CEO of Timmons Truck Centers, said in announcing the Winnfield expansion, "When we opened here eight years ago, we pledged to bring the Winnfield area the kind of truck sales and service it deserved. The forestry community and other trucking interests have favored us with a growing patronage, for which we are grateful. Now we are making another commitment--to offer top-of-the-line automobile and truck parts and supplies to the general public with our Car Quest franchise." James Haymon, manager of the Winnfield division, said construction on the 90-foot front Car Quest parts store is due to begin at the Timmons location on Highway 167 North in Winnfield within four to five weeks, with completion within two to three months. The project inludes a general "face lift" on the present building, and addition of two additional bays in the heavy truck repair center. Haymon said the service and parts staff is being expanded for anticipatng more deliveries, and longer open hours for the public. When complete, the Winnfield store expects to employ 16 to 17 persons. Timmons Truck Centers is dealer for International trucks, with sales to loggers, over-the-road haulers, and school buses. Parts, supplies, repairs and maintenance are provided for all makes of heavy trucks. Timmons has petitioned for annexation into the City of Winnfield, Haymon said, which will provide additional sales tax revenues in return for city services. |
