Voting for Congress starts August 28 in state

Party candidates for U.S. Senator and House of Representatives will be voted on in the First Primary election in Louisiana on August 28, announces Louisiana Secretary of State Jay Dardenne.

A Second Primary, if necessary, will be held on October 2, along with statewide elections for local municipal and other offices. Finally, the General election on November 2 will pick the winner in a race that will include party nominees, and no-party and independent candidates who will not appear in the party Primaries.
