Creek Timber Company Environmental Logger of Year for
2000 By JAMES RONALD SKAINS Adrian James, recently named Plum Creek Environmental Logger of the Year, Logger is Plum Creek's ``go to guy'' Frankie Rogers, Plum Creek Forester told the Piney Woods Journal. ``We couldn't ask for a better person to work with than Adrian James. He is very versatile with his logging operation. That gives us the option of moving Adrian around from first thinnings to second thinnings and even final harvest.'' ``We've had Adrian working on Plum Creek tracts all the way from block 8 in the Verda area to block one near Monroe,'' Rogers pointed out. ``Adrian has a great attitude and always gives us his best effort no matter what the tract of timber is or the difficulty involved in logging it.'' ``The Plum Creek Environmnetal Logger of the Year is no small deal with us,'' Rogers also told the Journal. ``Each of our loggers are evaluated by nine Plum Creek foresters, including myself.'' ``The loggers are evaluated based on work ethic, adherence to our policies, concern for the environment, and haul points and destinations among other criteria,'' Rogers explained. ``We are very proud of Adrian James' work with Plum Creek.'' Others selected in years past for Plum Creek Environmental Logger award are Lowell Hubbard and Tony McManus. McManus went on after winning the Plum Creek Environmental Logger of the Year to be selected as Logger of the Year in Louisiana by the Louisiana Forestry Association Adrian James is a third generation Winn Parish Logger who has participated for years in the pro-Timber Sports events at the Louisiana Forest Festival held each April in Winnfield.
