Journal is retiring compromised e-mail account 'ttkelly'

Users of electronic e-mail to communicate with The Piney Woods Journal are advised that one of our older addresses is being retired, because of its apparently being compromised by "spammers," who have managed to penetrate our "shields" and infect us with a computer virus for the second time within recent months.

The personal e-mail account of ttkelly@worldnet.att.net, or ttkelly@att.net, in use for more than five years, is no longer being used to send or receive mail. Anyone receiving mail with the name "ttkelly" in the Internet Explorer browser "from" column is advised that it is not from us, and should be regarded as "spam," and may be infected with the virus worm KLEZ-H.

Other e-mail addresses, shown in the Piney Woods Journal masthead on Page 4, should be used to communicate with us. A new unpublished account address has also been established, which can be obtained by inquiry through one of the published addresses, for business use only between known parties, with restriction on forwarding and unknown attachments.
