| SFPA makes awards
for company safety Southern Forest Products Association (SFPA) announced winners of the 2005 Sawmill Safety Award, achieved by seven member mills for outstanding safety records throughout the year. Based upon the results of occupational injuries and
illnesses reports, SFPA members submitted information on
total employee hours worked and the number of recordable
cases. Mills were classified by total annual production
volume of the company: Division I for companies producing
less than 50 million board feet; Division II for
companies making 51 to 150 million board feet; Division
III for companies exceeding 150 million board feet
annually. SFPA is proud to announce the following 2005
Sawmill Safety Award winners: Division II: Anthony Forest Products - Atlanta, Texas Division III: Weyerhaeuser Company - Dodson,
Louisiana, On April 25, SFPA Chairman of the Board Clarence Young presented the award to a representative of each inning mill during the SFPA Spring Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana SFPA has represented manufacturers of Southern Pine lumber since 1915. Today, SFPA active member companies throughout the Southeast produce over half of the nation's Southern Pine lumber.
