Whildlife Short Course set for February

The LSU AgCenter will offer a Master Wildlifer Shortcourse next spring at nine sites around Louisiana. The shortcourse is intended for landowners, hunters and outdoor enthusiasts interested in integrating wildlife considerations into their land use and management activities.

The shortcourse consists of seven 3-hour sessions broadcast from Clemson. The topics for the sessions are:
#1 Introduction to Wildlife Management.
#2 Biology and Management of Quail, Rabbits and Mourning Doves.
#3 Biology and Management of Wild Turkey.
#4 Managing Waterfowl, Wetlands and Other Aquatic Resources
#5 Biology and Management of White-tailed Deer.
#6 Managing for Wildlife Diversity.
#7 Developing Wildlife Recreation Opportunities on Your Property.

The shortcourse starts in February, but starting dates vary by site. Registration fees also vary. CLE and CFE credit will be given to the shortcourse.

Registration will be allowed for all or individual sessions. Those who register for all seven sessions will receive a 3-ring binder full of reference material.

The registration deadline is December 6. Seating may be limited at certain sites.
